Personal Style Files: Transitioning Shorts to Fall (the Shorts Suit)
Hey hey hey peeps! Happy Fall! It’s been a looooong minute since I’ve done a personal style post (thanks CORONA), but I’m no longer letting her keep me down! I’m back and ready to help you guys usher in a new season! Fall 2020 is still fall. We may not get out as often, but we still have to get out…why not look great while we’re at it!?!
So, one of the easiest ways to transition shorts to fall is starting with coordinating set! The blazer of a shorts suit is the best head start to layer for fall and having a matching set takes a lot of the guess work out of getting dressed! The two suits I’m sharing today take me from spring to fall, just by changing up what’s underneath and what’s on my feet!

I bought this super cute short set almost 2 years ago and still get tons of wear out of it! To transition it to fall, since temps are still pretty friendly right now, I paired it with a cropped white tee (bought every single available color cuz they’re THAT good and only $5!!!) and white booties (similar)!
I took a similar approach with another shorts suit, but styled it for cooler temps!

I bought this navy linen short suit from Crazy Beautiful Clothing just a few months ago (sold out but available in Linen). I loved the look, but it felt very “little boy Easter suit” with the white buttons. So, to counteract that feeling of innocence, I added a few layers for fall but with an edgy twist with a hoodie, black stiletto booties and a wool fedora!
Hoodies are perfect for layering in the fall and instantly makes the suit feel less serious and stuffy. A gray one is great for any street wear look and was perfect for this suit. This brand is my go to, comes in a ton of colors and is suuuper affordable! Hello less than $10! And these black leather booties are classics…will never go out of style!
I hope this inspires you guys to get a bit more wear out of your coordinated short suits! Pairing them with classics like hoodies, t-shirts and booties will stretch your thigh meat season well past summer and into fall!
