My Home Projects for 2025: What's Next for Hamilton House

I can’t believe we’re already wrapping up month two of 2025! Just like last year and the year before, I’m sharing my intended projects for the year! Inspired by Renovation Husbands and my bestie Shavonda Gardner , I’m sharing them in carousel form over on IG, but I’m also sharing them on YouTube, so be sure to click here to watch the full video!

In the video, I’m sharing the spaces I’ll be transforming (some may surprise you), admitting to what’s bringing about these changes and, also, sharing my plans for the personal touches that will make each space truly reflect the person I’ve become. But, I’m keeping with tradition and listing them here too!

But before I do, let’s talk about what got done from my list from 2024!

Davin’s Gaming Room is complete and he loves it! I partnered with IKEA to pull the space together and my very talented friend, Frances Berry Moreno, painted a custom mural on the ceiling to rally give the room a new life.

The Guest Room got a lot of love and is fully functioning as a guest room again! The new Bayu pendants from Troy Lighting (Hudson Valley Lighting) were such a simple addition that made a gigantic impact on the space! This room has been amazing for our guest and I could totally call it done, but don’t be surprised if it gets another slight update this year too!

Well, the rest of the list included the garage, the wet bar and a pool house/third bedroom. I didn’t get around to those, but one of them is kicking off the list for 2025!

  1. The Garage

The garage is back on the list and up first. It’s become a catch all for all the things that are coming or going and is in desperate need of some organization. Real systems and solutions for all the things that belong and the garage and the things that I’d like to use the garage for, like repotting my plant babies and a beverage center for when we’re spending time on the patio. Not only will it get some new systems, but there’s no way I’m taking this space on and not addressing the dingy walls and crumbling popcorn ceiling!

2. The Living Room

The Living Room is beautifully done and, though I love it, it just doesn’t feel like me. I want to take it back to the midcentury lounge that it used to be, but elevated with meticulously curated vintage pieces and a new layout. I won’t be repainting, but this room will look completely different once it’s done.

3. The Primary Bedroom

The Primary Bedroom is also up for a complete transformation. The slatted accent wall made waves when I finished this space for the Fall 2019 One Room Challenge. Its been an inspiration to a lot of other people’s projects and has been featured in tons of publications, but I’m ready for a change. I’ll be keeping most of the furniture, but everything from the floor to the walls to the ceiling will be getting an upgrade!

4. The Dining Room

This one may come as a surprise to a lot of you guys, but yes, the dining room is changing. More specifically, the mural. This mural could not be more signature Carmeon, but it’s time for me to say goodbye to it. I have a yearning to break outside of the box and transform this entire space into something new and inspiring.

Hopefully/Maybe: The Wet Bar and the Pool House/Thrird Bathroom

Just as I explained last year, though it all looks great, I want fixtures and finishes for the long haul. We’ve been working with the original cabinetry and plumbing fixtures but I’m ready for some upgrades. Hoping to find a solution to incorporate some real bar appliances like a beverage fridge or ice maker to the mix too!

It didn’t happen last year and I don’t know if this will happen this year, but it’s definitely STILL high on the priority list. With the pool parties in full swing, I want to have a space closer to the pool as an option for people to use versus them tracking water throughout the house to get to either of the current bathrooms. I’m working through the option of adding a bathroom in come of the available space in our workshop off our garage or adding a totally separate structure to the backyard, like my bestie’s Studio Shed office.

This year’s list is short but heavy, impacting all the main spaces in our home! Again, head over to my YouTube channel to watch the full video! Let me know in the comments which project you’re most excited to see—and if you have any ideas or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
