Mix & Match with Garnet Hill

Hey peeps! So if you follow along with me in my Insta-stories, you may remember that a few weeks ago, I gave you a little sneak peek to two totally luxe bedding looks. I’m so freakin excited to dish all the deets about them and the amazing company that you need on your list of favs!

A lot of you may be new here, but those of you that have been here a while (at least since last fall’s One Room Challenge), you’re probably already familiar with my love for Garnet Hill! They provided me with all new bedding for our new bed back then, and I’ve been a total fan ever since! Garnet Hill is a destination for beautifully designed, responsibly sourced, aspirationally styled for women, kids, and home. They’re basically a trusted friend that offers products that enable you to get the look you love, and to be confident in your values and style!

We’re almost a year into our first set of bedding and are still very much in love with it (you can see what we picked out here), but the Garnet Hill team had perfect timing when they reached out to me with an offer of more bedding accompanied by a little challenge: to show you guys how easy it is to mix and match pieces from their Relaxed Linen bedding collection!

First and foremost, I was super excited because that’s exactly the collection we had and were already in love with so I jumped at the chance to add more pieces to it! And I wouldn’t even call this a challenge because it’s so easy to create the ultimate customized bed by mixing and matching pieces from their relaxed linen collection.

Everything comes in the most amazing colors and the linen is perfect for lots of layers or a little; no matter where you live or how you like to sleep! Linen has high air permeability and heat conductivity properties (that means, it is a breathable fabric) so, it makes you warm in the winter and keeps cool in the summer. Another perk: linen bedding is twice as durable as cotton bedding and can last much longer; hence the investment!

Now, to give you a little background knowledge about my selections, these are some of the things I considered before making any decisions:

1.       Our bed has a very bold and graphic pattern, so I didn’t want bedding with a pattern that would compete.

2.       Our bedroom is very serene and calming, so I wanted bedding that would feel the same.

3.       I’ve lived with all white bedding for over 10 months, so I was ready to bring in some color.

4.       Since I wanted to bring in color, I had to make sure they were colors that not only worked in the room, but could also work together to be interchangeable.

5.       We’re gearing up for fall, so I wanted to make sure I had all the layers to be prepared for cooler temps!

So, here we go! Here’s look 1!

For the first look, I kept it neutral, but added a ton of depth by playing with tones. Neutral doesn’t mean all white or all beige, so don’t be afraid to mix it up!

I started with a white fitted sheet, then layered a striped flat sheet for a subtle hint of pattern. The stripes were actually the color inspo for the rest of bedding: white quilt, neutral duvet, white and striped pillow covers, etc. I changed things up and went deep on the throw. The camel tone really makes a statement amongst the rest of the bedding while still being “neutral”.

For look 2, I went with 2nd favorite color in life: green! Olive green, to be specific. It’s second only to the color black. The olive tones in Garnet Hill’s relaxed linen collection is shear perfection.

There’s nothing chicer than a monochromatic look and that’s exactly what I was going for with this one.

I could’ve opted for the olive sheets and shams, but my neutral foundation with the white fitted sheet and striped flat sheet made it too easy to mix things up just a bit. I kept those and brought in an olive blanket and olive duvet and euros and a deep olive velvet throw pillow.

I think my favorite element of both bedding sets was a little detail of linen covered buttons on the shams.

I’m so in love with both looks! Do you have a favorite? There’s no way I can chose one over the other, so I’ll definitely be alternating these all fall! I hope you guys were able to see how easy it is to switch up your look whenever you feel with Garnet Hill’s relaxed linen bedding, but not sacrifice one bit of style or comfort.
