Fall Grilling with Home Depot & Traeger Grills

We’re a few weeks into fall, but that doesn’t meant patio time is over! Temps are still pretty mild here, so I’m super excited to have the opportunity to max out our patio usage with none other than Traeger Grills!

If you’re not familiar with Traeger Grills, then it’s time to get familiar friends! They’re the #1 selling wood-fired grill thanks to its consistent results and easy, no-fuss usage! Prior to getting our Traeger, I left all the grilling up to husbae, because getting our old grill set up was too much of scientific hindrance. Getting the charcoal to lighter fluid ratio just right so you’re not in danger of scorching your eyebrows when sticking your hand in to physically light the fire was nothing I ever wanted take on myself. In grand contrast, using our Traeger Grill was about as easy as using our oven!

First, you power on your grill and fuel the fire by adding the hardwood pellets. The all-natural hardwood pellets are designed specifically to work with Traeger grills and are calibrated for maximum consistency so you get the same perfect wood-fired results every time! They come in a variety of wood species to suit what’s on your menu! Fruit woods give off more subtle flavors and staples like hickory and mesquite give you those bolder flavors you crave when you think wood-fired grill! I went with their signature blend of hickory, maple and cherry to have a taste of both!

Once your pellets are in, you just set your grill to the temperature you want and head off to prepare your meal!

Our inaugural meal on our new Traeger was marinated steak kabobs (recipe here). I wanted the full experience of grilled meat and veggies, so I figured, why not have it all!

By the time my kabobs were ready, the grill had set to my exact temperature and was ready to go! I got my kabobs on and hit them with a bit more marinade before letting the grill go to work.

Once they were on, I got to head back and wait it out inside. No need for babysitting or constant checking because our Traeger is equipped with WiFIRE®. This allows me to step away from the grill and monitor/control it via the Traeger app from anywhere, like my sofa!

When I thought they were about done, I attached the included meat thermometer to the digital controller to check the steak’s internal temp to ensure they were perfectly cooked through.

They were cooked to perfection and the veggies were nice and tender too… all in about 10 minutes!

So, if you’re in the market for a new grill or know someone special who has one their Christmas list, I highly recommend the entire Traeger line, all available at The Home Depot. Ours is the Traeger Pro 780 Wifi Pellet Grill and Smoker in Black and it comes with all the bells and whistles, like the WiFIRE technology and Trager App which can help you kick off grilling season way before spring!
