A man’s world…with a designer’s touch, of course!
My client has Southern roots but lived in NYC for almost a decade and recently made their return home to Memphis. He found a place that gave him the industrial feeling of a New York loft: concrete floors, brick walls, high ceilings, exposed duct work, etc., but asked that the furnishings have a feeling of Southern comfort with a mid mod aesthetic. My client selected the Timber Sectional, Vitri Coffee Table, Nord Chairs, Sede Counterstools for the living area and the Nera Bed for the bedroom.
I then brought everything together with rugs, pillows and textiles for warmth.
Bedroom rug, bedding and lighting are all from IKEA.
No project of mine is complete without plants and that I knew each of the babies I chose would thrive with the huge north facing windows that came with this apartment!
Lastly, you can tell a lot about a person from their art collection, but to my surprise, my client owned none!!!!! Considering my love of art and supporting local artists, I made it my mission to start my client’s collection with the most perfect piece! I custom commissioned this huge canvas of Muhammad Ali from my good friend and incredible artist, Frances Berry Moreno!
My client has a special connection with boxing and spoke about how transformational it was in his life growing up (and how it was part of his connection to his grandfather). I knew Frances could infuse the grit the space needed while also creating something that would keep my client inspired during this phase of life and beyond!
