NYC "A Dream REALized"
Do you guys remember that little trip that Shavonda and I took to Brooklyn, NY, back in July? If not, here’s a little reminder! But, to help refresh your memory, bestie was given the incredible opportunity to design a room in the Real Simple Idea Home in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and she asked that I join in as her partner to collaborate on the space! We spent over 3 full days running around New York and making over this blank slate into the dream it is today!
The construction team and Real Simple staff did an amazing job of doing most of the heavy lifting before we got there! We only had to finish up the molding detail (check out the video here), arrange the furniture to fit our layout and then style the hell out of every square inch of the space!
Once all of the furniture was laid out, we got to work mapping out where art and larger accessories would go.
We were down to the final elements of the space and I got to work on styling the shelves and the rest of the space. We had to head to Atlanta before every detail was finished, but left the Real Simple team with a list and simple instructions for finishing things up. The did an excellent job of executing our vision and we couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out!
You can now view the entire house (360 view tour included) over on the Real Simple site! The other designers really dished out the inspiration so you are not going to want to miss it! I’m dying over the roof top patio and the master bedroom and the multi-use guest room and the…you know what? Just go!

A huge and special thank you to Real Simple for this opportunity, Christopher Testani for the amazing photos, Livia Cetti for the beautiful flowers and, of course, my gorgeous best friend, Shavonda Gardner for always pulling me up the ladder that she continues to climb. For that, I couldn’t love her more!
