Reno My Rental: A Closer Look at Episode 6

Hey peeps! Happy Sunday! My usual gleeful Sunday morning Reno My Rental recap is a bit dampened with sadness today. We all knew it was coming, but it feels like it happened way too soon and way too fast. The finale episode, episode 6, is up and available for streaming on Discovery Plus! Of course, I’m sharing lots pics of details on the amazing transformations from Ashely and Marquise’s super cute ranch rental in Frayser, but I also wanted to take a quick moment to thank each and every one of you for supporting the heck out of this show!!! I’ll be back with an even bigger THANK YOU, but would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge how much you all have shown up and shown out for me and the entire team that it took to put this show together! It means so much and is the absolute fuel needed to light a flame in the hearts of the HGTV and Discovery Plus teams to help them decide on green lighting a season two!!! So thank you! Thanks you! THANK YOU!!!

Now, back to Ashley and Marquise’s spaces! Before, their den and kitchen were drab and stuck in the 70’s and 80’s with super grainy wood paneling and orangey oak kitchen cabinets. Both spaces were completely void of the fun personalities of Ashley and Marquise and any evidence of their love for life, family and the Dominican Republic! So, ultimately, it was my goal to give them just that!

Here’s how each space started!

The gorgeous leather down filled sofa is the extraordinary Nirvana Dakota Tan sofa from Article! It’s one of the softest, most comfortable things I’ve ever sat on and the quality of the leather on it makes it worth 5x’s more than what it actually costs! Plus, it will patina beautifully over time, giving it more of a vintage look for this den!

Dylan did an incredible job on the custom stereo console and set up! The reclaimed lumber that Ashley and Marquise helped us pick out was totally meant for this space! And the geometric panels that TJ created give this room the warmth that it needed!

The gorgeous paint color of the den and lower kitchen cabinets is Sherwin Williams Indigo Batik and every wood surface was primed before painting! And my favorite element of the kitchen (besides the upgraded appliances) is this gorgeous navy leather wrapped brass hardware that I found in this super cute shop on Etsy!

Again, thank you all so much for watching and supporting Reno My Rental, streaming only on Discovery Plus! And now that it’s all out, stay tuned for lots more peeks and info on all the behind the scenes!
