My Coffee Bar Essentials
A morning cup of coffee is a non-negotiable for me, and while grabbing a cup on the go is fun, I prefer to make mine at home. There’s something to be said about the time it takes to make your first cup. It’s an intentional moment that sets the tone for your day.
I currently use a Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine. It looks complicated with all of the bells and whistles, but once you get the hang of it, you will love being an at home barista and making it on your own.
A Perfect Cup of Joe
At home, I keep things simple. Because of the capabilities of my machine, I use whole beans, either from Cxffeeblack (black/locally owned) or Kroger if I’m in a pinch. I grind cardamom seeds (taken from inside of the pods) with my beans. Cardamom is great for immune heath and adds the most incredible aroma as you sip! The flavor is slightly peppery yet sweet and is the perfect compliment to any roast. Before brewing, I add a pinch of salt to my mug (it cuts the acidity off the coffee) and then I top it off with Coffeemate’s Natural Bliss Brown Sugar Oat Milk Creamer (no additional sugar).
If you’re interested in creating your own coffee bar at home, here are some of the essentials I use.
