13 Black-Owned Businesses + Brands That I Love To Support

Hey hey friends!

Happy February and HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH!!!

As a Black woman and Black business owner, Black History is yesterday, today and tomorrow! But I wanted to take a moment to shout out some of my favorite Black-owned fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands that I personally love and support on a regular basis. Be sure to check them all out (and tell them I sent you!)!

Souk Bohemian

A bazaar for bohemes | where culture meets curation.

Friends and business partners, Morgan Ashley and Vanessa have fused their separate ventures to create Souk Bohemian, which is one part of The Bō’hēmian Brands. In all that Souk Bō’hēmian does, their goal is to introduce new and different cultures to their community. They partner with local and global artisans to bring people aspirational ready-to-wear pieces, home goods, small-batch jewelry, and handmade accessories to curate every aspect of their life. Wander in their minimal palettes and global aesthetics, as you would a bazaar in North Africa or your favorite local market. Souk Bohemian is a Black owned, Woman owned, and Queer owned shoppe inside Ponce City Market (Atlanta, GA).

Bohicket Apothecary

Maker of Small Batch Artisan Soaps and Hand Poured Soy Candles

Owner Treva began making soap and candles in 2005. She’s self taught and has a strong passion for working with a variety of recipes and cooking delicious meals. She started out with making soy candles and then eventually began creating handmade soaps. Today her products have expanded to include much more. Her products are part of a modern apothecary that open the senses, soothing and filled with goodness.

Bolden USA

Skincare backed by science for melanin-rich skin.

Bolden is the brainchild and passion of Chinelo and Ndidi, two dynamic women on a mission to embolden women around the world by celebrating their natural beauty. The two originally met as girls at boarding school in Nigeria but lost touch after Ndidi switched schools. Little did they know how their paths would cross and culminate in becoming not only business partners, but sisters-in-law.

Using the best ingredients to create the most effective formulations, their goal is to create a sense of empowerment, confidence and pride among all women. Believing that true beauty comes from feeling good in your own skin, they named their brand Bolden from the word embolden.

Tree Fairfax uses leather hides with natural imperfections and incorporates them into each bag, giving you a one of a kind piece while also cutting back on waste. Every bag will take on a life of its own, with little reminders of time passed. Each piece is created with love and care by hand.
